69yrs William Hastings,Tragic Workplace Accident Claims Life of East Windsor Man
EAST WINDSOR — Police have identified the worker killed in a horrific industrial accident Tuesday evening as 69-year-old William Hastings of East Windsor.
Authorities were called to a North Road construction company around 6:45 p.m. after reports of an unresponsive man pinned beneath a car carrier truck. Responding officers found Hastings, an employee of the company, tragically trapped under the right side of the truck cab between its dual wheels.

East Windsor and Enfield firefighters worked to free him from the wreckage. Despite their efforts, medics pronounced Hastings deceased at the scene after he was dislodged.
According to a preliminary police investigation, Hastings was performing maintenance work underneath the truck cab when the vehicle unexpectedly rolled backward, crushing him. The incident does not appear suspicious, and no criminal activity or foul play is suspected.
Representatives from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) responded to launch a full investigation into the fatal workplace accident.
